What is a Share Certificate?
A share certificate is a credit union’s version of what banks call certificates of deposit (CD). Share certificate accounts earn higher interest rates than savings accounts and money market accounts but with withdrawal limitations. They are good for people who want to commit an amount of money for a fixed period of time in exchange for a guaranteed rate of return. Our returns are usually well above average as compared to other financial institutions. Share certificates are an excellent, low-risk way to earn higher returns.
